  • Backyard Jam Concert Series at Market Square Park| FREE – Market Square Park in Downtown hosts a free outdoor concert series featuring local bands and musicians. Take Dad to enjoy music in the park from Ume. 7pm.
  • The Eagles and Chris Stapleton at Minute Maid Park Sing along to “Hotel California” with your pops as one of the most commercially successful rock bands of all time, The Eagles land at Minute Maid Park for one night during their massive stadium tour.   • Father’s Day Breakfast at Hermann Park Celebrate Father’s Day with your family at Hermann Park with a scenic breakfast on Pinewood Cafe’s patio overlooking serene McGovern Lake. Continue the fun with a ride on the Hermann Park Railroad, a fun arts and craft activity, and pedal boat ride. Tickets are $14 for adults; $7 for children 12 and under. 8:30am to 10am.
  • Father’s Day Brunch at Cadillac Bar Houston Cadillac Bar Houston hosts their Father’s Day Fiesta Sunday Brunch with over 70 buffet items to choose from. Menu prices vary. 9am to 4pm.
  • Father’s Day at Churrascos Treat Dad to a delicious meal when all Churrascos locations host a Father’s Day Brunch buffet from 10am to 4pm and dinner after 4pm featuring their signature South American food. Churrascos locations include River Oaks, Westchase, and Memorial City. Cost of the dinner is $34.95. 10am.

  • Father’s Day: Free General Admission for Dads at MFAH Share a day of art with your fathers and grandfathers at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. All fathers will receive free general admission. 12:15pm to 7pm.
  • Father’s Day at Bayou Bend Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens host a Father’s Day event that includes complimentary lemonade and cookies at the Lora Jean Kilroy Visitor and Education Center. Fathers and grandfathers receive complimentary admission. 1pm to 4pm.

Memorial Day Weekend Celebration & Fireworks Shows - 4  - 9 pm.  Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend in The Woodlands. The festival pays tribute to all military service men and women who lost their lives while serving the United States, and also honors all veterans who serve as a symbol for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice of life to protect our freedom. Memorial Day Weekend in The Woodlands features live music, children’s activities, strolling entertainers and more at Town Green Park. The evening concludes with a dazzling fireworks display choreographed to a patriotic soundtrack.

Houston National Cemetery Ceremony -  9:30 am (at Hemicycle) National Cemetery Administration will host Memorial Day ceremonies at VA national cemeteries across the country with the help of local communities. Each cemetery and community will add their own special touch of patriotism and “thanks” during the events.

Sugar Land Memorial Day Ceremony - 10 am - 1 pm The City of Sugar Land will honor the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces for their selfless service by hosting its 9th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony. This event is free and open to the public. The program includes: patriotic music, educational and commemorative activities, on-site military exhibits, flag ceremony

Memorial City - 3 pm to 6 pm -Memorial Day in Memorial City. Join us as we pay tribute to our heroes and celebrate Memorial Day with a color guard ceremony, country music, and fun activities for the whole family.

Mother's Day is Just Around the Corner

That's right, Mother's Day is only a few days away! If you've already ordered flowers, bought chocolates or bought a gift then you're in great shape. If you haven't or are thinking of doing more why not check out the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center? It's completely free and you'll have a chance to spend some quality time with Mom. Located on the grounds of Memorial Park, the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center consists of 155 acres of natural environment. From their site: “Visitors can explore nature by walking on trails (totaling 5 miles) free of charge.

If you do feel like an extra activity they will be having a "Make a Pollinator Container Garden" class for an extra few bucks. If you're interested and for pricing click here for registration and details.

The 2nd Annual Houston Health Day will be held from 10 am to 2 pm at 2020 Hermann Drive, Houston, TX 77004. The event is free and will offer healthy eating classes and cooking demos as well as assistance applying for government assistance programs.

Good Oil Days 2017 - Humble Senior Activity Center - Humble, TX


Humble Senior Center is putting on the 37th annual Good Oil Days Festival, where all ages are invited to enjoy great food, arts and crafts, the famous senior plant sale, and a KIDS ZONE dedicated to kids with games and activities just for them.
